4. KitchenAid 3.5 Cup Mini Food Processor, Boysenberry

Here we feature another great kitchen appliance for a gluten free kitchen from Kitchen Aid. We love this one because it is compact and lightweight making it a great option for a home with one or two allergy free or celiac eaters. Or for small jobs it’s also a great addition to a larger capacity processor. You can use this daily and pull out the big guns for larger jobs. And the color is beautiful. We especially love it for hummus, making raw cauliflower rice and chopping nuts and seeds. Keep this little guy on your counter and you will probably use it almost daily.

We ♥:

  • Small and lightweight
  • Great for small daily tasks
  • Great for one or two people
  • Fast
  • Great price

Not So Much:

5. GoWISE USA 4th Generation 1400W Electric Air Fryer with Touch Screen Technology

Oil free frying, gluten free frying. Frying RULES! Especially when it is this healthy. This guy works better for frozen type foods rather than, say, trying to air fry a fresh cut potato. But thats ok, it fits the bill when you need a quick feel good snack like some onion rings or veggie eggrolls. Hits the spot. You wont get the super crispy crunch like you would from regular frying, but the GoWise gives you a nice compromise between frying and baking. What we really love is that it is wayyy healthier than frying and you don’t have to deal with an oily mess. Easy to set up, easy to clean.

We ♥:

  • No mess
  • 7 smart programs
  • Detachable basket
  • Good compromise between frying and baking
  • Better and healthier than regular frying with a cleaner flavor

Not So Much:

  • Best for frozen type food rather than fresh

6. Oster Jelly Bean 2-Slice Toaster, Purple

Well, what can you say, it’s a toaster! But we love this, it looks like a purple jelly bean (hence the name), works great and is really inexpensive. It’s pretty basic, which we are good with, the settings are simple and easy to use. One downfall was that it toasted both sides of the bagel. But who eats gluten free bagels anyway? Ok, I’m sure plenty of you do, so if you do toast a lot of bagels, maybe try one of our other options.

We ♥:

  • Simple and easy to use
  • Does what it does well, um, toasts

Not So Much:

  • Bagel fans beware, it toasts both sides.
  • Slots are a little shallow

7. Hamilton Beach Shimmer Finish Slow Cooker, Purple, 5 quart

In this line up we have pressure cookers, multi cookers and now, the Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker. I remember growing up with a slow cooker. Likely you did too. When Mom went off to work, she had a nice stew cooking in the cooker and it was ready when we got home. So easy. But that was before anyone really knew they were celiac or preferred to eat gluten free. Mom would throw anything in there. Now we are allergy free a plenty and we know it can be very beneficial to make sure our favorite appliances remain uncontaminated. So get this shiny purple slow cooker and make your meals worry free. It’s a pretty standard slow cooker and won’t give you a headache trying to set it up. And the locking lid is a special feature you don’t always see in a pressure cooker.

We ♥:

  • Locking lid
  • Dishwasher safe lid and crock
  • Great price
  • Simple to use

Not So Much:

  • 5 quart capacity is not bad, but could be bigger
  • Had some issues with the lid closing tightly for transport

no purple, thank you.

8. Gourmia 11 in 1 Sous Vide & Multi Cooker – Purple Stainless Steel with LCD Display Multiple Cooking Options

Slow cook a root veggy stew, make rice, roast potatoes, saute…the list goes on and on, and you only have one pot to clean at the end. We are all about fast meal prep and fast clean up and we know you are too. But we do it without compromising great flavor and healthy ingredients. Health, flavor…you will hear it again and again from us. Our other mantra is convenience. And here you get it with the Gourmia; lots of preprogrammed single touch modes on an easy to read LCD screen to make your life easy. 9. Hamilton Beach 62621 6-Speed Hand Mixer with Snap-On Case

“Now why would I need a purple hand mixer?” you may be asking yourself. Well, hello; contamination. Say your hubby is making regular pizza dough and forgets to tell you, and you go to mix up some gluten free something-or-other with the same mixer, you’ve got a problem. No worries here though. This sweet purple mixer functions beautifully and helps keep you safe from contamination. And you get a nice variety of 6 attachments for a vast array of mixing needs; wire beaters, dough hooks, whisks and a milk shake attachment as well as traditional beater attachment. The mixer is ergonic and comfy to use and comes with a cool little storage section for other attachments. We did find that the storage area was too small to hold everything, a minor gripe. It’s an overall great mixer.

We ♥:

  • Ergonomic
  • Lots of attachments
  • Storage for attachments and cord
  • Great price

Not So Much:

  • A little smaller than expected
  • Storage doesn’t fit everything

purple, uhhh…no

10. KitchenAid 2-Speed Hand Blender, Boysenberry

We love Kitchen Aid, bottom line. And we love immersion blenders. In addition, this one is a beautiful allergen friendly purple. Less worries about it getting contaminated by an annoying family memeber, ha ha (kinda). There is really not much no say about an immersion blender, they do what they do. The question is about performance, durability and how long it will last. Well, its a Kitchen Aid so you know that that you get all of the above. It is a little heavy, but thats what you get when something is well built. Trust this one.

We ♥:

  • Comfortable grip
  • Included blending jar
  • Nice price
  • Convenient
  • Easy to clean

Not So Much:

  • Heavy

no purple, thank you

11. Babycakes CP-12 Cake Pop Maker, 12 Cake Pop Capacity, Purple

You’re in the kid zone now. I wish we had these when I was little. But actually, then it would have been a gluten filled affair with tons of sugar and who knows what. Now we have gluten free everything, low sugar, organic etc etc etc. And we have cake pops.  What an invention. Makes 12 pops in under 4 minutes; amazing, a quick treat in a pinch when the kids are ballin’. There is some difficulty at first getting perfectly round pops, but once you get the hang of it, it’s on. Another thing is that it gets pretty hot, so keep it away from the kids fingers. Otherwise, we love it.

We ♥:

  • Nonstick, easy clean up
  • Nice extras included
  • Easy to use
  • 12 treats in 4 minutes!

Not So Much:

  • Gets hot

12. Comark Instruments Waterproof Allergen Thermometer

So, when you’re making bread, unless you are a Jedi master, you will need a thermometer to let you know when the bread is done on the inside. It’s pretty essential. Comark makes lots of purple color coded items to help you avoid gluten contamination. And if the pros use this color in their kitchen, then we can definitely recommend that you do too. We love the pen style, it fits great in your apron or shirt pocket. Finally, its waterproof. So those of you who have used non-waterproof thermometers know how annoying it is when they get wet and steam up. Not here. Works great at a great price.

We ♥:

  • Thin tip for fast response times
  • Easier than non-digital
  • Pen style; stick it in your shirt or apron pocket
  • Water proof
  • Long shelf life, buy more and save $$$

Not So Much:

  • No complaints here

Final Thoughts

Whether you like purple or not, there is no denying that if you buy some appliances and they are purple, it is highly unlikely that your partner, family member, roomate, buddy… whoever eats gluten in your house, will always remember to not use gluten in your appliances. Mistakes happen, and for us it can be bad, real bad. So why take chances?

We tried to provide you with a kitchen full of purple color coded appliances we feel you will love and use often. All of these items will make your life easier and save you lots of time. We’re all about that.

But if you just can’t get with the whole purple thing, no problem. We have provided you with a lot of great alternatives in other colors.

Let us know how we did!
